Synopsis:

Sometimes you reach a point where you just can’t take any more — a breaking point, some call it.

The day I watched my husband murder the woman who was pregnant with his child, my point didn’t just break, it exploded like a full magazine’s worth of hollow points firing through the barrel of a fully-automatic AK-47.

Literally.

I am no longer his American Princess, nor am I his slave.

Now, I’m a murderer in hiding. My name was Bryleigh Carter Oliveira, and that was my story.

Translucent is one woman's story of breaking free, starting over, and learning to trust again through willful submission.

DeAnna's Review:

*5 Stars*

In my opinion, the best books make you experience many emotions while you’re reading. Translucent is definitely one of those!! If you’ve read the Book Boyfriend Series by Erin, don’t expect any of that with this book. It is, at times, dark and disturbing, but is also very beautiful. You will feel your heart break and then be put back together. You will feel sad, then happy, then sad again. This is one of those books you won’t be able to put down.

Blake. Formally known as Bryleigh, Blake is trying to start a new life. As Bryleigh, she was living a very horrific life. Some incomprehensible things have happened to her in her young life and those things continue to haunt her as she tries to move on. She has very graphic nightmares about her past. When she wakes from those nightmares, she has usually injured her body in some way. As she tries to rebuild a new life she meets someone.

Madden. Madden is amazing!! He is everything any woman would want in a man! He is so into Blake and his overwhelming need to get to know her and protect her. She tries to push him away in the beginning but he won’t allow it. He sticks by her through it all.

There is so much I want to say about this book, but I just do not want to spoil anything about this amazing book! It's dark, raw, steamy and full of suspense. I loved every single word of it! I had such a serious book hangover when I was done, so I read it again! This book ends in a cliffhanger, but please don’t let that steer you away from reading it. It is so worth it and I cannot wait for the next book!! The characters are well developed and the writing is brilliant. Erin is super talented. Her books just keep getting better. She is definitely on my favorite author list. I am HIGHLY recommending this book!
