Synopsis:

The Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.

Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

In the first installment of the Maddox Brothers books, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

DeAnna's Review

*4 Stars*

Travis Maddox who?

I was so excited when I found out there was going to be a series written about Travis’ brothers. I wasn’t sure if I would like reading about them as much as I did about Travis and Abby, but Trenton definitely made me forget all about... What was his name again? I was seriously hooked from page one.

I’m going to do this review a little differently than I usually do. While I loved this story there were also things I didn’t like too much.

Beautiful Oblivion (BOB) is told completely from Cami’s POV. Cami is in a long distance relationship with a boyfriend who seems to not be putting much effort into it. Trenton Maddox comes along with all his charm and good looks and tries to spend time with Cami. Cami grew up with the Maddox boys so, of course, she knows all about their reputations. She doesn’t want to give Trent the time of day, but he eventually worms his way into her space. And might I add, he played dirty when he did, but it worked! LOL. They start spending a lot of time together and she feels a little guilty about it since she has a boyfriend. From there, we are taken on a roller coaster ride.

What I did like:
1. Trenton!! Like his little bro, he is protective of those he loves, he goes after what he wants and the ladies love him. He is also very smart and in control of his emotions and temper and I felt like he was more tender and mature maybe. He is lots of fun and has a huge heart!

2. I liked that Cami was an independent woman. She is more than willing to sacrifice things to take care of those she loves. She tried hard to make her long distance relationship with her boyfriend work, even when he wasn’t making it easy.

3. I like how the timeline overlapped with Beautiful Disaster so we could see a little bit of Trent and Cami in relation to Travis and Abby.

4. I loved watching Trent and Cami’s relationship develop and how they always had each other’s backs.

5. The twist. I figured it out early in the book, but of course didn’t confirm it until the very end. I liked it.

What I didn’t like:
1. Cami’s family issues. When the issues were introduced, I kept expecting something big to happen with it and it never did. I was kind of disappointed.

2. I also wish that there would have been more written about their pasts to give us a better understanding of how it affected them and made them who they are.

3. I don’t know why Cami stayed with TJ as long as she did. She clearly wasn’t happy with their relationship.

4. I just felt like there were huge gaps in the story making it feel a little rushed at times.

Now. I shouldn’t be comparing Beautiful Disaster (BD) and BOB, but I kind of feel like I have to a little bit. I really liked this book. That being said, I feel like this BOB lacked the intensity, action and drama from the BD. I do, however, feel like I connected a whole lot more with Trenton than I did with Travis. I can’t say that this book left a huge impression on me, but it did leave me with a new book boyfriend to add to my list. :)

This is worth the read and I recommend it and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
