Synopsis of The Promise.

Devastated by circumstances beyond her control, Sophie Ryan’s life rips her from the arms of her first love, Jack. With only memories of their lost love, she’s forced to start over in a new town; surviving on her own for the first time since he left. Trying to begin her new life, fate decides a different direction for her, causing her to make a choice she never thought she’d have to.

Unsure of commitment after his failed engagement, Chase Mitchell finds himself stuck on a path of failed conquests and late nights at the bar. That is until he finds a pair of mesmerizing green eyes sitting in his usual spot. Something about this quiet girl forces him to question everything he has ever thought about love.

As Sophie looks down at the fork that’s presented in her path, will she choose the right direction? Will she be able to move towards the arms of the man who stands in front of her? Or will she choose to keep her promise to the one life forced her to leave behind?

SJ's Review.

This was a HOLY. SHIT. Mouth wide open kind of read! The full 5 stars for The Promise.

The Promise starts off with Sophie & Ana packing up and moving on with things. What things you have no idea you just get the hint that 'Jack' AKA Ana's brother/Sophie's Fiancé is no longer with us (may he rest in peace).

Sophie is very broken, you can see this from the beginning. When Jack died he took a part of Sophie with him. They were high school sweethearts, having spent years with Jack Sophie has never known what it's like to be with anyone else, how is she suppose to move on?

Ana is left to pick up the pieces and keep herself strong for Sophie's sake.

Both made the same promise to Jack, they are to keep make sure eachother is happy. Ana has a logic behind moving. Sophie can never move on with her life all the time she is living in Jack's house, sleeping in Jack's bed & driving Jack's car.

Upon arriving in the new town they will call 'home' Ana settles in quickly, almost starting a job straight away. Sophie doesn't have as much luck. One fateful nights Sophie pops into Ana's place of work to drop something off and never did she think this one night could change her whole life. Ana & Sophie both meet new men, who happen to be cousins. Hot cousins!

Ana has been looking for a new man for a while and Drake happens to fit her perfectly. Sophie never knew what she wanted until it was put right in front of her, never did she think she would fee something for someone ever again having lost Jack but Chase, Chase made her feel things she never thought she would feel again.

Ana & Drake quickly fall into a comfortable relationship, this mean Chase is around the house a lot. Sophie and Chase grow closer but remain good friends but that's not from Chase's lack of trying. Chase doesn't know about Jack but he knows Sophie has been hurt by her ex and isn't able to open to him fully. Sophie is becoming more and more uncomfortable with the way she feels about Chase. Is it too soon to feel something for someone else after losing the one you love?

Fast forward a little while and Sophie finally opens up to Ana about how she feels about Chase. Ana knows Chase is a good guy and tells Sophie to go for it. Sophie and Chase start a relationship and are getting along wonderfully that is until Lauren makes and appearance. Lauren is the ex Chase wants to forget, she brings nothing but hassle and trouble to the new found relationship between Sophie & Chase.

Apart from Lauren and her troublesome ways Chase & Sophie have a pretty solid relationship, although Chase knows there are somethings Sophie isn't telling him he is okay with that. Its only when Chase see's Sophie with some guy and goes all jealous boyfriend on her arse that Sophie accdiently blurts out that Jack is actually dead! Chase is shocked to his core, he didn't see this coming. It explains a lot! After getting his girl back where she belongs things are great, never been better. Nomore secrets between them and no more trouble, but lets be serious there is always trouble hiding somewhere.

Just when you think Lauren has got the picture and Sophie will finally get her happy ending tragedy strikes!!!

Will Sophie ever forgive Chase?

Will Chase be ok?

Will Lauren get what is going to her?

Will Sophie ever open up to Chase about Jack?

This book killed me. I felt so bad for Sophie, and Chase. Chase didn't do anything to deserve the way Sophie left BUT I get why she did. She's fragile, her heart is weak she is protecting herself from getting herself hurt all over again. Chase is slowly picking up the pieces and mending her broken heart but will he ever be enough? Will he ever take Jack's place in Sophie's heart?

I loved the duel point of view this book gave. It showed such a range of emotions, aspects and views. How Sophie thought Ana was dealing with her brothers death and how she was actually dealing with things is just one example of how the duel point of view worked. I was so glad to have all three books ready and waiting to be read! I don't think I could've waited with that cliff hanger.

When long buried demons from her troubled past resurface, Sophie is forced to face her darkest fears, questioning everything she once thought was real.

When life thrusts a path in your direction, what fate will you choose?

Synopsis of The Choice.

SJ's Review.

Firstly Chase is ok. Thank God! At the end of The Promise you heard about Chase being in a car accident because he drunk drove with Lauren. Did I mention I HATE Lauren! Chase wakes up to his girl by the side of his hospital bed and he couldn't be any happier. He has his girl back and a burning question on his mind.

Hearing the words 'Chase' & 'Accident' in the same sentence was Sophie's worst nightmare. She's already lost one man she loves she doesn't deserve to lose another. When Drake arrived on her doorstep that night to tell her of the accident she didn't want to believe it but it made her realise what it is she wants and that is Chase. No matter what happened between them she knows the photo was a lie and he would never cheat on her. Nomore protecting her heart she going all in.

Sophie gives her heart to Chase when she opens up completely to him about Jack, even going as far as asking him to read the final letter she received from Jack. The letter in which he tells her to move on and be happy. After Chase reads the letter Sophie feels all her stress leave, she feels there is nothing more for Chase to know about. He has all of her now. The good and the bad.

Sophie and Chase are pretty much living together by this point so its not often she gets to see Ana. Having planned a girls night now that Chase is back to being himself and fighting fit once again. The girls head out to a bar, but it wasn't easy going. Nothing ever is with these girls. The guys were happy with the way their girlfriends were dressed and demanded they change. Sophie being Sophie is being stubborn and comes out dressed even more seductive than she was the first time. This part made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes!

Finally the night gets going and Sophie' boss arrives along with some friends to see his girlfriend. One of his friends gets a little friendly with Sophie and actually threatens that if she doesn't leave with him he will hurt Ana. Sophie will never have Ana hurt so she hopes that Ana knows her well enough to know she would never cheat on Chase let alone leave the bar with a random man she just met.

Can Ana save the day?

Will they be able to save Sophie and get her away from this Creeper?

After this you think 'ahh great only a little left too read, maybe they will get the happily ever after now' NOT A CHANCE!! Sophie travels back home for TJ's birthday with Ana, Drake and Chase little does she know there will be more there than she ever bargained for!

Could this be the end for Chase & Sophie?

Will Sophie get the wish she always wished for?

Is it all just a dream?

How will Chase survive?

These were all question whirling through my mind as I read the final words in this book! I was gob smacked, I sat there with my mouth hanging open after having read that last page. How could Kate do this to her fans? What a complete bitch....

Synopsis of The Secret.

Just as her life finally seems to be on the road to happiness, an unimaginable twist of fate rocks Sophie Ryan's world yet again.

Torn between two paths that promise her unconditional love and unbearable heartbreak, Sophie faces the hardest choice of her life.

New truths will be revealed, old demons will resurface, but when future and past collide, who will she trust to keep her secrets?

SJ's Review.

Holy. Fuck. Shit. Balls.

JACK is ALIVE..... ALIVE!!!!

In the end of The Choice you kind of guess he was but it was never actually stated that it was Jack they were seeing. Hell poor Sophie. No poor Chase. Shit Jack! I was so torn, who the hell do I feel sorry for? Chase has given his heart to Sophie, Sophie has finally found her smile and what she thought was her happily ever after but Jack said he would always come back for her, but he was dead. DEAD! Apparently not.

This little well huge twist sent me through a loop, I infact did email Kate and tell her I had a feeling Jack wasn't dead and he was going to come back but

not the way he did. Hell poor Jack he went through some tough shit to get back to Sophie. Shit poor Sophie she thought the love of her life was dead and now she doesn't know what she meant to do with her supposedly forever with Chase.

When your faced with the man you thought was going to be your forever and the guy that is just about to become your forever what do you do? Sophie has a tough decision to make. How does she choose? Who does she choose?

This book is tough going on the heart, with the duel point of views you see how torn Sophie is but she has made her decision and is happy about what decision she has made. She has broken one heart that she never thought she would have to break let alone walk away from.

You then also see one man dealing with a broken heart and trying to come to terms with his girl walking away from him and living her life with another man. Admittedly he knows his girl will always be taken care of but that doesn't make it any easier.

Then you see the second man struggling with trying to deal with his girl mourning over the lose of the other part of her heart. Sophie's heart will always part belong to Jack and part belong to Chase, so its pretty obvious that it was not an easy decision to make.

Not only do you see the Jack, Chase and Sophie triangle you also see a lot more of Ana & Drake's point of view in this book.

Ana always thought Sophie would be with her brother Jack so she can't understand why the choice is so hard but for Sophie she loves both men and both men have been there for her at the darkest times in her life. Once she has made her choose but it doesn't make moving on any easier. Remaining friends with the other man remains hard on the chosen guy but he has to live with it, he knows Sophie doesn't want to hurt anyone and he will always be in her life.

Sophie has a secret a HUGE secret.

Sophie's mum is a bitch and need a slap.

There is some big shocks heading this way.

Just a few points to throw out there. I wasn't so shocked at the ending but I think I have an idea of what book 4 will entail. I'm a keen little bean and need to get my grubby little hands on book 4 (newly announced as 'The Commitment')!!

This whole series deserves more than the 4 stars I can give it but I think of the series The Choice is my favourite. Sophie finds herself in the Choice, she grows some balls and she shows her feisty side and I loved it!!

About the Author.

I grew up in Texas and moved to Florida when I met the love of my life 13 years ago. I wrote my first poem when I was five and it was about my love affair with pickles. I still love pickles but I like to think my writing has grown since then. I absolutely adore anything to do with books whether it's writing them or devouring them in one sitting. I live on music, love, and sweet tea. I am known for my silly but blunt personality. I've been lucky enough to find the love of my life, marry him and now we're working on our happily ever after. He inspires me in everything I do, but especially in telling love stories. I'm an ordinary girl living an extraordinary love and I'm so happy I get to share it with the world through my writing. I can't wait for you to read my debut novel, The Promise!
