Synopsis.

Happiness is only reserved for the upper class in the United States of America.

As a military wife who spends most of her time working for minimum wage, Temper Jensen can attest to that. Finding a spare moment to spend with her husband, Voss, is a luxury she can hardly afford.

Everything changes when the citizens realize that the president of the country is nothing more than a terrorist bent on total domination. Freedom no longer exists for the citizens of the United States of America and all who dare defy their new rulers are considered rebels of the nation.

Temper knows what she must do, even if it means being separated from Voss in order to save his life. Risking everything, she runs home to her moonshine-brewing anarchist daddy’s home in southwest Arkansas to collect a congregation of rebels to fight back. No one can be trusted, especially Temper’s devious ex-boyfriend who won’t take ‘no’ for an answer.

Can Temper reunite with her husband, keep her wayward family out of trouble, and restore the USA to the nation under God that it was intended to be—or will freedom as we know it be lost forever?

SJ's Review.

Firstly let me start by saying this book really surprised me, I wasnt the person who signed up for this review because the blurb didn't catch my eye but when a guest reviewer wasnt able to review I was left with 12 hours to read and review this book and let me just say I am glad that the reviewer couldn't it read because I actually loved this book! I started it at 8am and kept saying 'I'll read one more chapter then i must go to bed' its safe to say I saw my bed at 3am and I was not in the last bit disapointed. I had never read any of Brittant Jo James' work but now I am a fan and I am certainly going to look into her a work a little more.

Anyway, on to the review.

This book was so full of life and passion that was one of the main reasons I loved this book! Temper is the main source of passion in this book. When the presdient of the United States becomes a power hungry terrorist the Country has no choice to either abide by his rules or imprisionment. With the population of the newly named United States of Amir split on the decision to stand up and be counted or bowed down to thier master it is left to Temper and her Family to close ranks.

Temper and her Family travel throughout the US bringing together groups of people from different areas to stand up and fight for thier Country. It isn't until the 'Fight' that you realise how many people are actually behind Temper and her 'Rebels'. Tempers ultimate quest is to save her husband Voss, Voss is in the United State Military he had to stay behind when Temper fled the Air Base to get home to her parents and brother.

Throughout the book you get glimpses of Voss and the torture in which he goes through but he keeps fighting til the end because he knows Temper will never give up looking for him. Temper becomes well known throughout the 'Rebel Community' and is a pretty name. Her appearance may fool you but inside she had been brought up to protect, she was trained to fight by her Brother (Wes), Twin Cousins and of course Voss. She definately not one to shy away from trouble, she will face it head on if she needs to. Standing on the front line between her Daddy and Brother, not one to sit at home.

This story at times had my heart in my mouth. The emotions this book pulls from you is amazing. I thought the great thing about this book was that the main character (Temper) was female. Normally in books about war th main character is a big hunch guy... Well Temper is pretty much one of the guys. With her determination, love and fearlessness nothing will stop her from finding her husband.

The end game is that President Amir will be brought ot justice and the people of America will get the Country they know and love back, amidst a few changes. Changes for the better of course.

Can the President be brought to justice?

Can the USA return to the way it once was?

Was this all an act of God?

Without giving much away I loved the ending, it was a great endng to a wonderful story.

I'm certainly giving this book a massive 5 star. Why? Because...

-The way it kept me pulled in, not many books can keep my attention for aslong as this one did.

-At 500+ pages I would normally read over two evening, but being short on time and generally not being able to put it down I read it in 8 hours!

-The difference in roles are different! Normally is the damsel in distress waiting to be rescued and the Male leading the way a bashing his way through 100's of people to get to his women. Not this time

-Lastly i just LOVED this book...

Normally upon reading a book I like to reflect for a day but with this one I really dont think I needed to. I have some much love for this book!
