Synopsis:

 

As if going off to college isn't hard enough, Rayne discovers she has other challenges beyond roommates or first-year workload.

This is definitely NOT like any paranormal romance book I have ever read!!! Tara has out done herself ONCE AGAIN!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!

 

Rayne just wants to be a normal 19 year old girl and go to college. Her mother, or as she likes to be called, Willow, doesn't want her to go off to college. She wants Rayne to wait a little longer, but Rayne refuses to wait longer than she already has.

 

When Rayne moves into the dorms, Willow COMPLETELY embarrasses her and gets people to do a meditation to ward off any bad juju. Embarrassing, RIGHT?!?! ESPECIALLY after she gets some of the people in the dorm to do it WITH her!!!

 

That's when Rayne meets her roomie, Mona. Mona is pretty awesome and, as everyone tells her, she looks just like Blair from Gossip Girl!  Rayne and Mona strike up a crazy friendship and do almost everything together. Then add Rayne's friend Michelle, from her hometown, into the mix and it's even CRAZIER!!!! LOVE these three together!!!

 

 

While out with Mona, Rayne meets the TALL, DARK and GORGEOUSLY SEXY, Wyatt!!! I mean HOLY CRAP is he YUMMY!!! Totally SWOONED!!! 

 

After meeting Wyatt, EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, changes for Rayne!!!

 

Every time she is with Wyatt, she gets sick, like REALLY SICK. Weird, RIGHT?!?!?  That's exactly what Rayne thought!

 

This turn of events, and a crappy encounter with Wyatt one day, is how she learns that she's not even HUMAN!!

 

Things take a DRASTIC turn and people, or things, start coming after her. So not only does she have that to deal with, she learns that Wyatt isn't human either.... AND technically.... his family is her family's oldest ENEMY!!! Crappy, right?!?!

 

This doesn't stop him from protecting her. But when you think you have Wyatt and everything going on figured out.... BAM!!! Everything changes!!! You find yourself wondering who the enemy really is and asking yourself "Does Wyatt really love her?! Is he using her?! WHY would he do that to HER?!?!  ALL questions I YELLED a few times throughout the book!!!

 

Rayne grows up A LOT throughout the book!! I mean I know I would if I learned that my destiny had to do with the fate of humanity!!!

 

I LOVED Rayne! She's honest, BRUTALLY HONEST, isn't afraid to break down when things get too hard to handle, but strong willed and she is just truly AMAZING!!!

 

"Innocent?" I laugh "I'm not a nun. I'm just not a whore. I'm also not some bimbo who's going to be passed around by dirty frat boys. Look at you with your charming schoolboy looks and smooth moves. Please-like I'm gong to have a drink with someone who used his best moves on every other girl in the room. Yummy. Nothing like being last in the line up."

 

I SWOONED over Wyatt!! He is just so mysterious, sweet and caring towards Rayne, but then turns around and makes you want to BEAT THE CRAP out of HIM!!! He has his reason and it's hard to LOVE someone you are DESIGNED to HATE!!!!!

 

 

This book is full of MYSTERY, ROMANCE, ACTION, and HEARTACHE!!!! It will leave you guessing till the end!!!

 

There are so many twists and turns in the book, you will NOT want to put it down until the end, when you are FORCED to because you are at the last page!!!

 

As ALWAYS, Tara has done an AMAZING job!!! I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!! Yes there is a cliffhanger, but the book is TOTALLY worth the cliffhanger!!! BUT I do have GOOD NEWS!!! The Four Horsemen is now AVAILABLE on AMAZON!!!

 

The Light of the World is DEFINITELY a 5 STAR book!!!! DO NOT pass up this book!!
