Synopsis:

This book is about That Girl…

The girl who leaves behind her past, including her name; runs away from home and vows to never let another identity claim her again. Broken dreams, an abusive step-dad and ugly memories from her childhood are the only shattered remnants that have the ability to haunt her.

With no money, an endless blank slate laying ahead of her and no hopes for the future, she sets out to survive at minimum wage jobs, moving from town to town, changing her name with each move, and never allowing glimpses of her past to threaten her empty future.

Average in every way, from her looks to her personality and even her style, there is not much to remember about her. When she abandons one town for another, she leaves behind her fake identity in the search of the next one, while leaving people asking themselves, “I wonder what ever became of that girl.”

This was her reality until Lincoln Wilks.

The number one defensive football player in Fort Collins who finally names That Girl.

Abby's Review:

That Girl has truly caught me by surprise. My heart broke for "That Girl" in so many ways and for so many reasons.

This story really took me places no other book has in... I can't tell you how long. This is a story that will stay with me for a very long time. HJ Bellus, shows that her amazing talent in writing has no bounds and she has a true gift. The way I feel after reading this brilliant book goes beyond words I can not describe. To me, this will forever hold my heart.

We start with "That Girl" who wants nothing more than to leave her past behind and run away from the powerless, vulnerable, inferior way of life she has been forced to live. She wants to start over and never let another identity claim her again.

It's hard for a girl who has never had hopes or dreams to see herself as anything else but empty. With her only hope being to stay invisible and never let her past catch up to her again, she sets out with no money or goals other than getting as far away as she can from a past that will swallow her up and a future that is uncertain.

When writing a review, I always try to tell about the story without giving too much away. I start by giving a brief description of the book then go into what I thought. I am not going to do that this time. Why do you ask? Because this book deserves more!

I know we read reviews that talk about how it took us on an emotional roller-coaster ride and left us feeling all these things. I am even guilty of this even though what I was saying was true. Yes, those books made me feel things but I have never read a book that took me to the places this book has. The range of feelings I felt reading this book are just so above and beyond. Sad, happy, mad, anger, fear, surprise, hurt, anxious, confused, awe, astonished, dismay, overwhelmed, worried, devastated, proud, excited, ecstatic, eager and fulfilled. (just to name a few)

I don't think the range of emotions this book brought out in me has ever happened in a book I have read. You go from lows to highs and all the way back again. And this book truly left me speechless. This was one of those books, that after you finish reading, you just sit there in silence and stare off into space with a feeling of Awe.

This story is a story I will take with me forever. I will hold this one dear to my heart and never let it go. "That Girl", is a girl that I will forever Love and Cherish. She will be forever locked into my heart and that gives me peace.

Don't worry all you ladies who love a good romance. This has that too!! Lincoln will steal your heart and hold it hostage!! Oh My Smexy Lincoln! (You will Love him!!)

HJ Bellus, has shown she has a true gift. Her writing in this book was phenomenal. True Brilliance!

So, would I say I recommend this book? Absolutely! This is an easy 5 star read and I'd give it 10 if the stars went that high lol.

About the Author:

I am just a simple country girl getting one story
out of my head at a time. I was raised in small town,
USA and still reside there with my husband and
children. I am a huge country music fan and am
inspired by it everyday. I live and love country life,
and you will find those elements in my books. I also
adore strong and brave lead female characters, and
strive to be a courageous and independent woman in
everyday life. In my opinion, life is no fun without a
good sense of humor, sprinkles, cheese whiz, and
candy. It is the simple things that warm my heart.
Live life your way, HJ Bellus
