SJ's Review.

Ok... so... emmm... okayy...

If you can't tell already I'm pretty stunned. When I first picked up the book and started reading I thought it was going to take some getting into but it didn't. Once you get the first bit out the way and the confusion with Julia and the fire you realise this book really grips you. Personally I'm not normally a paranormal reader but I got a email about reviewing this book and thought 'Why the hell not, sounds good' so here I am. The few paranormal books I have read have actually been some of my favourite reads and I honestly think this one sits amongst them.

Julia is 'Stained' does Julia know what this means? Nope. Does anyone seem to know what this means? Well I'm not sure, if anyone knows for certain they aren't telling Julia. The fact Julia was meant to die in the fire along with her foster parents means Julia has to hide, she has to act like she is dead. How does a girl do this with no money, no backup, no anything? Well she takes refuge at a warehouse of course...

Enter Cayne. Cayne litterally drops in on the place in which Julia is sleeping... Cayne is hurt. Very hurt. Julia heals Cayne but she isn't sure how she did it? Is Julia as normal as she once thought? Julie realises Cayne is actually beautiful., but what scares her is the guy in which Cayne was fighting when he fell through the ceiling of the warehouse. 'Sam' is the same guy in which she saw hoovering over the house the night her parents died. What is he? A figment of her imagination? He can't be... can he? Cayne wakes up and Julia realises she doesn't want to be left on her own again, so she presuades Cayne to take her with him. Much to his displeasure she tags along, but only a bait.... yes bait. Sam wants Julia dead. Why? Well I'm not actually sure, neither is Cyane, or Julia. By leaving with Cayne could Julia have put her self in danger? Will Cayne hurt her or protect her? It starts out that Cayne is the good guy seeking out the bad. Sam has something Cayne wants back. What could it be? Once Cayne has retrived what he is looking for will he become the back guy too? Will he no longer be Julia's protector but her hunter?

Travelling around the country and spending day in and day out together can't be easy when you don't know one an other but these guys seems to have a connection, what that connection is I'm not so sure. Cayne is Julia's Rock but Julia is Cayne hard place. What makes things so hard for Cayne to get close to Julia? He is so closed off, if he just opened up a little maybe they could have a great relationship. Throughout the book you see the connection between these two running deeper and deeper, they seem good for eachother. Is the meeting of these two fate?

When Cayne regains his memory he realises he isn't the good guy but just as bad as the guy he has been hunting. Has Cayne been hunting the wrong creature? Will Julia and Cayne get past this or will their fate be written for them? Will Julia finally find out what she is? Is the guy Julia has fallen in love with any good for her? Will he keep her safe?

I orginally gave this book 4* because of the ending. I retract that. I give it 5*. It was brilliant. It gets an extra star from me because I only reduced it's star rating because the ending. I hate cliffhangers. I normally will not read a book if I even get a hint of a cliff hanger BUT the trailing books are out already so I'm okay. They are now on TBR list and I will get to the bottom of Cayne and Julia's story. Will these two get the happy ever after they deserve? They both deserve to be happy, they've had enough heartache and loss. Ella James you rock lady.
