Skin Deep was a pleasant surprising read! I loved this book and read it in one sitting. A book hangover was well worth it thought. I'm struggling a little with revewing this book, not because it is rubbish but because it is hard too review without throwing in too many spoilers.
Synopsis.
For first year surgical resident Veronica the prescription for success is simple: a little hard work and a lot of extra effort to stay one step ahead of her competition. Like any pill her new job is fraught with side effects, and an embarrassing encounter on her first day should have been her first clue that she needed to read the label on the bottle a little more carefully. As her meticulously concocted regimen begins to fail she quickly finds herself overwhelmed, swallowing daily doses of a brilliant mentor, her gorgeous co-worker, and a hilarious sidekick. Can she suppress the infatuation, insatiable giggling, and bouts of poor judgment brought on by this med combo or will the unanticipated side effects turn her first year of residency into a living nightmare?
SJ's Review.
Firstly we have Veronica aka Ronnie. Veronica is a doctor which her parents hate. She was expected to be provided for by a nice husband not go out and provide for herself. She is a strong, fiesty women and a great doctor!!
Next we have Alfie, Alfie is on the same programme as Veronica and they hit it off instantly. Alfie is attractive to look at, but best of all he has such a great humorous side too him! Veronica & Alfie's first encounter was when Ronnie is trying to dislodge a wedge she had found herself trying to dislodge!
Next we have Dr. Bates, Dr Bates is also easy on the eye... He is an idol of Ronnie's and she finds herself in a sense stalking him, she knows his break schedule and makes sure she is in the same place at the same time. Surely he wont notice a little Dr like Veronica.
Lastly we have Dr. Chad West. Chad is the last hotty Dr we have (I think I need to find myself a hospital with this many hot Dcotors) Chad is a darling, he is any womens fantasy. Hot, Caring and Smitten with Ronnie.
Who oh who will Veronica choose? Alfie is out of the picture due too a small fact that he has a wife! That leaves us with Chad or Brenden.
Veronica is being lead by her sexual attractions and not listening to her heart. Her sex drive is leading her too one guy but her mind is leading her too another. Which one will she choose in the end?
A fabulous 5 star read from an author I hadn't met before. I am now going to check out Jacelyn Stover's other books and getting too one-clicking!
