SJ's Review.

Wow this was a long book but a bloody good one at that.

Rebecca AKA Red is broken. She has had a troubled past and she dealt with it through partying, drinking and boys but she's trying to stay away from that now. She has never had a boyfriend and never felt love... Jake has been her crush for a while but jake isn't interested... That was before.. Now he's interested but he's a arse. Then there is Aiden. Aiden is hot and interested but Aiden has a girlfriend... Vanessa! A relationship of 7 years, Becca doesn't stand a change against that... Or does she?

Well let me put you out of your misery. Aiden dumps Vanessa, let's face it he wasn't happy with her but he was guilted into being with her because of what happened. From the get go Aiden felt a pull to Becca and he wasn't risking throwing away a connection like that to keep his and Vanessa's parents happy. Is there more to why there parents wanted then together or was it just for the sake of there child? Yes you heard right they HAD a child but Vanessa is a evil cold hearted bitch... Is it even Aidens?

So from the get off Aiden and Becca are attracted to one another but it's obviously everyone around them isn't happy about there relationship that is with the exception of Jeramy, Toni and Aidens father. They are the only people that support there relationship.

Both Aiden and Becca have pasts they are ashamed of and stuff they don't want to talk about but they are honest with each other and lay all there cards on the table no matter how painful it is. With no secret between them that makes there relationship stronger and more intense. Aiden feel he needs to protect Becca and keep her safe but what if he is actually making things worse for Becca? Risking her life maybe?

When their pasts come knocking and they are both faced with some shocking discoveries will they come out of it together and intact? Or were they always better off alone?

There are some pretty shady characters in this book and it is no secret which if them dislike Rebecca and do they dislike her because she's with Aiden or just because of what they stand to lose by him not marrying Vanessa?

I really enjoyed this book. At first I thought. Ok a typical love story and hell I love the typical love story but this was actually filled with angst, worry, and painful revaluations. I really enjoyed my Saturday afternoon reading Self Destruct and let's face it that is the perfect title because from the beginning that is how Rebecca struck me! She was set to self destruct but will she bring Aiden and everyone she cares about down with her? Can Aiden keep her safe? Will they get the happy ending they deserve? Or will Aiden get the ending his mother had planned for him? A lifetime of misery and heartache!

Two other characters I would like to mention. Jeramy and Toni!! I loved these guys. Aiden's best mate and Becca's best mate.... I'm sure there is a three way relationship going on between these two and Cameron (Kate's brother).Nick I would also like to brush over nick! In the beginning I thought nick was a nice guy, a little bad boy streak but a nice guy... And honestly I still do! Even after what happened he had his reasons and his reasons were validated... Well I thought so! It didn't give him the ok to do what he did BUT it did make sense! He's not entirely a bad guy. He just needs help!!!

4.5 flashing stars from me!!! Nothing bad for the loss if the half a star but I felt these characters actually went through TOO much! Okay people go through a lot but in the spam of the book a lot of drama and heartache was caused but the love these characters had shined through!! Personal opinion but please make your own opinion because this book is well worth the read!!
