SJ's Review.

Wow. A fabulous 5* read. This book had me gripped from the first page, it is not what I was expecting it to be at all. I bloody loved this book, it was filled with real nitty gritty stuff. Murder & Suspense kept you reading but the love between Charlotte AKA Charlie & Nick was beautiful and gave it that light hearted feel away from all the tension. Thrown together in a really tough situation but coming out of it the other side together must really strengthen and solidify a reationship.

"My name is Charlotte Murphy. Charlotte? Charlotte… No… No, they call meCharlie. I call me Charlie. Everyone calls me Charlie; they have for years. My head hurts. Bad. I’m twenty-one? I’m from Indiana. Wait. Where in Indiana? Why can’t I remember?"

After Charlie is attacked by a serial killer/rapiest, its Nick who is assigned to her protection while in hospital. Eventually Charlie will be discharged from hospital and have to return to her home, this scares Charlie. Charlie is the only one to escape and survive Loverboy the serial killer everyone is looking for. Charlie is scared to return home, afterall Loverboy has not yet been caught and will no doubt be looking for her. The question on everyone's mind is 'How did she get away?' Even Charlie can't remember much of anything from her ordeal with Loverboy.

Charlie finally gets discharged from hospital and Nick is sent home with her, as live in protection. He will appear normal. No uniform. With Nick, Charlie feels safe, surprisingly enough to her, she thought she would never feel safe around a man again but Nick is different. Maybe it helps that he is a police officer? After all they are the good guys, right?

Thoughtout this book there are alot of twists, turns and shocking discoveries. The first shock comes when Charlie recieves an email. The next when she gets a phone call. Thirdly is the most shocking... Charlie is in the safest place in the City when she is at her most vunerable... What does fate have in store for Charlie?

"They can't hurt you unless you let them."

I can usually predict a book from close to the beginning, or can outline vaguelly what is going to happen, but truthfully Trista has done a stunning job. I had a few ideas but none of them played out how I suspected they would.

I liked how Nick and Charlie's connection wasn't instant like most love stories. People usually meet fall in love and have a HEA with a bit of angst thrown in, but Loverboy was so much more than that! Nick and Charlie have to work at it, it's not what either of the expected and it isn't planned by either of them, but what do you expect when you spending 24/7 with someone, a connection has to form from somewhere right? Should Nick have kept things profession? Could he lose his job? Upon taking on this case Nick thought it was a way to prove himself and maybe get recognised but has he just put his job and his girl in danger?

Nick is a great guy, he is there for Charlie night and day, even though it is his job. He isnt just being a protection officer he is being a friend, someone to lean on when things get tough. He helps Charlie to talk things through, and, helps her gain her confidence and life back on track after the attack. Is he a little more emotionally connected to this case than he should be? Is it solely because he is falling for Charlie, or because someone close to him has suffered the way she has?

I was shocked when it was revealed exactly who Loverboy was. I mean I was like seriously shocked, liked my jaw hit the ground and everything. At one point I even suspected Nick... I know I know shame on me... but to me it was logical... Okay maybe not, if it was Nick he has many opportunities to kill Charlie.

All in all this book was super. Let me tell you, you'll be sitting on the edge of your seat, biting your nails and talking to your kindle. I loved the relationship between Nick & Charlie., it wasn't made up of sex, it was plain and simple love. Warning to you. The epilogue will make you cry big fat ugly tears.

Will these two finally get the happy ever after they deserve?!

"Good things can come from bad..."

I for one will definatly be looking out for more work from Trista!
