Wow this is one hell of an intense 4* read. Brilliantly written and a cracking storyline.

 

Chiara Bassi is a hooker, a high classed, well paid hooker. The beginning see's Chiara seeking a job as a hooker from her mother's former employer. Looking for a high paid job at such a young age can't be easy, and renting her body out to anyone willing to pay the price can't be easy either. At what point do you decide that your life has had to come to that? Oh yeah when your mother has left you high and dry with a mentally ill sister in a highly expensive mental hospital. Underneath all the expensive clothes and fake sex, Chiara has a dream. France. Chiara is planning to retire when she turns 26 because she has worked it out that at 26 she will have enough money to support herself, her sister & her niece and nephew for the rest of their lives. When she retires she plans to move to France where she has already purchased a house, and she plans to find the man of her dreams while she is there. Are things ever that simple? Will she just be able to walk away from the job she has ever really known? and what about her family? will she take them with her?

 

Queue Torbin Duffy. Torbin is a MMA fighter, sexy and Irish. The beginning see's Torbin training in Boston & being approached by a big time guy from the Vegas fight scene. Vegas and the MMA Championship has all Torbin has ever dreamed about. Will Torbin get to Vegas? To the championship? All Torbin wants is for his family to be safe from the monster, in which is his father. Was leaving his younger siblings behind so he could presue his dream such a good idea? Is a big shiny trophey really worth the safety of his family?

 

Fast forward ten years....

 

Torbin is a massive name in MMA fighting but still minus one siny trophey. He had his shot and lost. Will he get there again or has he had his one and only chance?

 

Chiara is still a hooker and is fastly approaching her 26 birthday. 

 

Chiara and two of her fellow hookers are working as hired help within a hotel. One night they are hired to entertain Jesse, Kieran Duffy and Torbin. Chiara had two rules. No kissing and always wear protection so not to get any sexually transmitted infections. The instant Torbin & Chiara's eyes meet there is a connection. They get talking and Torbin takes her home. Little does he know, she is a paid for hooker. After a great night of sex Chiara sneaks out during the night, leaving Torbin her number. Will he call? Shes hoping he will but is that for bussiness or personal purposes? If its for personal purposes she could be breaking one of the big rules she agreed to upon taking the job. Could she be getting herself into trouble? or putting Torbin into danger? but from the moment these two first met you could sense the connection, you'd have to be a fool to think these two weren't going to see eachother again.

 

Chiara isn't allowed boyfriends or sexual partners away from work. That is classes as stealing but Chiara is property of her pimp, and I don't think he will take to kindly to having someone have a free ride on his merchandise. So basically these two can only end in disaster right? Even if they aren't sleeping together, Torbin is still on borrowed time. Who knows what the guys who own Chiara will do to Torbin when they find out. Who knows what he is jeprodizing. His family? His girl?Fighting?

 

Both Torbin and Chiara have secrets to hide. Afterall Torbin isn't yet aware that Chiara is a hooker. Will he run when he finds out? Afterall, he knows about her struggles and how she was left to look after her ill sister. Will this work in her favour? Not that Chiara would appreciate the pity vote. She wouldn't. She could've been honest with Torbin from the start, but she didn't, but why? Was she scared he would look at her differently?

Torbin.. Torbin is also hiding a very big secret... one that could rip them apart and find him being deported back to Ireland. Will Chiara follow him or will she run when she finds out what he has done in his past? Why has this secret suddenly come to light after being buried for years? He thought he had seen the back of it, but should he have known better than to think it would all have just disapeared.

 

Both have there lifes shadowed by things they are by far from proud of . Can the relationship withstand the pressure? Or were they never really meant to make it? Were they always meant to be alone?

 

All in all I really enjoyed this book, it was filled with raw, intense passion. Sexually and otherwise.

I loved Torbin, his exterior was tough but deep down you know he has a soft heart. His life was clouded with guilt because of the home he left his siblings in, he felt guilty that they had to put up with his father but he could get to them and rescue them. Torbin had a big heart and would do anything... and I mean anything for the people he loved and cared about.

Now Chiara I actually admired her. She had a bigger heart than anyone. Not everyone would sell their self and their body in order to take care of a sister. As much as anyone loves there sister, they may struggle through 2/3 jobs but not everyone would sell themselves. She lived a life she didn't want, and went without the feeling of love all to save her sister. She's my hero. As guilty as you would feel that she did that, wouldn't we all love a sister like her?

As much as I liked this book I can't wait to get my hands on Kieran Duffy's book. He was one messed up mother f*&£%ER. Can't wait to get inside his head and see why he is so messed up.
