Fallen For You.

Taken By You.

Given To You.

If you believe your life is the sum total of your choices, what do you do when things just don’t add up? You are about to find out. It won’t be pretty. It won’t be dull. And surely, it won’t be safe. In fact, making just one wrong choice could put evil at your bedside watching you sleep.

And so it is with Kate Simmons, a young woman who, by choosing to regain her life, actually puts it at risk by the very choices she makes. After unimaginable heartbreak stops her world on a dime, Kate falls into a three-year blackness of self blame that brings her to the edge of life, itself. As time finally brings light back through tiny cracks of renewed desire, Kate moves out of the prison she made for herself in her mother’s home to find a new reality, rooming with her best girlfriend, Charlie.

Yet, to be free is to be vulnerable, and Kate’s choices more than ever mark a splattered line between being happy and being dead.

Care to choose? Here’s your menu:
A strangely alluring building manager so possessed with wanting you for his own, he’ll bury more than the fact he has a girlfriend; a buff college student for whom you are clearly hot, as are all the other girls on campus; a pushy lawyer who is as handsome as he is intoxicated with conquest, who doesn’t take no for an answer, who gets what he wants — always.

Sometimes, it’s whom you choose. Sometimes, it’s who chooses you. If you’re Kate, it’s both, and it puts you on a perilous road where good looks and humor are the thin masks of jealous delusion and utter violence.

You’re in trouble when the sum total of your choices is written in blood red.

After reading Beholden to you by Carlie Sexton I messaged her telling her what an awesome read it was (you will also find my review for that on the blog). Carlie then told me Kate's story was 'The killer next door' series, I then said I would review, so here I am, one week lately and emotionally drained...

Let me tell you Beholden to you was intense, a great read but Kate's story was so much more. You feel so attached to these characters and your heart will be beating in your mouth, this series had me biting my nails & me crying big ugly tears.... and then happy tears, tears of relief.. well all kinds of tears ;)

So Kate has just found her freedom, she has finally moved out of mer mums house and into a flat with her bestie (Charlie). Kate thinks she has a good thing going, she has a beautiful flat, a best mate who she admires, a job she loves, and is currently studying for a job she has always dreamed about, but one thing is missing.... The perfect man.

The past three years haven't been the best for Kate, after a devastating loss close to her heart, shes frighten to let down her walls again. Understandably really. Is she ready? Will she ever be ready? I guess you have to put yourself out there to find out... but has her Kate put herself out there at the wrong point in her life?

Kate's not short of male attention, she's a beautiful women. The thing is when you have three sexy looking guys vying for your attention who do you chioce... The building manager aka the next door neighbour. The sexy college guy with the drop your panties kind of smile OR the lawyer who won't take no for an answer?! One wrong decision could cost Kate more than just a relationship with a man. One of these men have a secret....

For Kate it isn't a fact of who she chooses, it's who chooses her... Things could become deadly ;)

So Kate has a choice to make, it's a tough choice but sooner or later the choice will be made for her. Is it the right one? Or will she just put herself and the people she loves in danger?

So firstly we have Roger, Roger is the appartment manager but happens to live across the hall. Roger seems like a nice, friendly, helpful guy & I guess it doesn't hurt that he isn't a bad looking guy... But everyone has a fault, for Roger he seems to nice, maybe coming across a little creepy..

Seconly we have Mark, Kates first day at school Mark catchs her eye, along with everyone else in the class. What Kate doesn't know is that she has also caught the eye of Mark. Mark isn't short of attention, and has all the ladys following him about. Does Kate really want the 'player' type?

Lastly but obviously not least, we have Neil. Neil is a lawyer, also VERY easy on the eye. Neil was meant to show Kate round campus when work got in the way Mark couldn't make it but Neil is used to getting what he wants and is ver pushy... I'm not sure an independent women like Kate would like that, would she?

Who will Kate choose? Who will choose Kate? And who will lose not only the girl but possibly there life? Things are never simple!!

Synopsis.

How tragic it is when a caged spirit finally finds its freedom and — entranced in its ecstasy — is invited by that freedom into a cloaked dance with danger.

In Book One of this three-part epic, Kate Simmons — young and alluring, and finally out of her cage of grief — attracts more than attention. Intoxicated by her newfound independence, a blithe Kate is on her way to finding out that around the corners of life, some life-changing eye-openers await. As the story continues in Book Two and she begins to churn a dangerously turbulent trail, it is Kate who now has to snap to, to react, to outrun, or become yet another tortured victim who vanishes down the path of wrong choice.

Having already roiled the risky waters of jealousy, Kate moves in with Neil while Roger — an enamored oddity — visits his son in Germany. Upon his return and finding Kate gone, Roger’s predator mind becomes unhitched, and then unleashed, on the hunt of a lifetime. But whose life?

Step by creeping step, even as Kate’s future closes in on her, she attends — obliviously — to her new life, working through the challenges of fresh relationships, losing family members both to death and to deceit, questioning the depth of love.
Every path offers a choice. Every choice offers a consequence. And every consequence summons its due. As emotions swirl across fateful days and nights, some in Kate’s life will reach out to touch happiness in warm embraces, others to sever ties in bloody traces.

The stains of passion are frequently mistaken. The question here is who will be taken?

SJ's Review.

So in the end of Fallen for You we saw roger return from Germany, only to find Kate's flat empty and no sign of where her or her roommate have gone. What lengths will roger go to to find 'his girl'? As we know rRger has already killed Rose & Mark. Exactly what is Roger willing to do to keep himself & Kate together? What will happen once Roger finds out Kate is now with Neil? Will he accept her happiness?

Neil and Kate haven't been together very long but there connection is unbelievable, they are so similar, both have similar pasts and have both lost people dear to there hearts. Are things to good to be true? Is Neil hiding something? With roger to worry about it's no wonder things get forgotten. Things have moved along quickly for Neil & Kate, what with Roger to worry about Kate only feels safe with Neil around, is this the start of a beautiful relationship? Or does moving to fast destine them for a short lived romance?

In this book Kate loses independence and is forced to rely on Neil for safety, but can he keep her safe from Roger. After all Roger is extremely dangerous, and having militery training doesn't help matters where Kate is concerned. Kate is so strong willed she doesn't want to believe that she could potentially be in grave danger. Would Roger really hurt Kate, the women he believes belongs with him?

My brain wouldn't shut up all the way through this intense read.
Will roger find Kate? Will he kill Kate? Will he kill Neil? How will he find her? He doesn't know about Neil after all, he's only met mark, which he already took care of. Neil, was just the name on a bunch of flowers as far as roger is concerned. These are all the things that we're running through my head while reading Taken by you. THEN you get to the OMG part and your heart is in your mouth. All Kate can do pray, pray to god!!

*prays* AMEN

Kate life is a series of right and wrong choices, all the choices she has made has led her to this point, this time, this nightmare. Could a simple cup of tea with a friendly neighbour in the beginning really be the beginning of the end? Could Kate truly be happy with Roger?

Synopsis.

To give is a virtue. But to give your very self, the ultimate bequest. Offered in love, it can be wondrous. Offered in desperation, it can be deadly.

In Book Two of this three-part epic, young and tempting Kate Simmons at last seemed to have reached a safe haven of happiness when she moved in with Neil, ambitious and persevering, both in his legal practice and his love life. Taking great care to protect his trophy and the surprise he had in mind for Kate, Neil hired security to accompany his soon-to-be fiancée on a scavenger hunt of a lifetime. As Book Three continues their saga, it is life itself that is in the balance when Kate becomes the hunted as the jilted Roger snatches his prey.

The obsessed minds of Neil and Roger now take aim squarely at each other — with a bare and exposed Kate directly in the crossfire. Knowing her very life will be the winner’s spoil, Kate stares agony in its ghastly face as it approaches for the death dance.

There is no time, no place, no safety in a war of fixation. A war in which the winner will be either the last one standing, or the last one to die.

SJ's Review.

Given to you for me was the best of the bunch, my questions when starting to read this book were. Will roger be found? Will he kill Kate? What about Neil? Will they get their HEA? Will the security be able to keep her safe from this loony (they did fail once after all.)? Will detective Jameson be able to catch Roger before he kills again?

Anyways, I'm obviously not going to spoil the outcome for you so I'm going to keep this review short and sweet.

Kate's become Rogers victim once when she was kidnapped by Roger in taken by you. Neil was her saviour and rescued her once, luckily before the disturbing man could harm her physically or sexually, but will he always be there to save her? Or will she eventually have to save herself?

As we know dolphins have been Kate's good luck charm since she was younger, and with Daniel. Hopefully she will see a few dolphins and get lady luck on her side for a change. Neil and Kate have a beautiful relationship and do deserve to have their happily ever after with a beautiful house, children and that dog Neil keeps talking about ;)

I guess winner takes it all. Who will get the girl? Kate wants Roger to leave her a Neil alone but has proved she isn't strong enough to stand up to him on her own. Kate needs to get the courage to stand up to her crazy staker once at for all. Three go in but only two must come out.

Honestly this book didn't end how I had originally expected it to but I'm more happier with how it ended, this series is a complete 5* read. I loved how this book switched between Kate's point of view, to Neil's, to Rogers. It gave you a real insight into what roger truly believed. He really did think him and Kate were meant to be together, he didn't see what he was doing as wrong. He was a real head case but personally couldn't see it, I guess he has fooled people since he was 6 years old....

Carlie strikes again with her epic writing skills & story telling. In this series you've got it all. Carlie is a fabulous writer and I can't wait to see what she gets up to next.

"You have brought me back to life. I now have hope for the future that includes more than just having a sucessful career. You are ana angel sent from God who has caused me happiness I never expected to feel again. I am greatful everyday to have you in my life." Neil

"I want to be with you all the day of my life. I promise that our life togther will be filled with love and passion," he said.
"It may not always be easy, but i would rather spend the worst of dys with you than have only the best of days without you. Will you do me the incredible honor of becoming my wife?"

Hi Everyone,
It is so amazing to me that my release day is finally here. It has been a long time in the making. I began writing Fallen for You in October, but realized that it was going to be a series, so I didn't release it when it was completed. Instead, I dived into Taken by You and it too is completed. I am working on finishing the final book Given to You. All 3 books will be released this summer. It has been an incredible adventure to become an indie author while working full-time as a teacher, but I am so grateful that I took the risk to follow my dreams. I have many more stories planned after my Killer Next Door series, but at this point they are all stand alone books. I hope to hear from all of you who read my book. Enjoy!

Carlie
