SJ's Review.

Wow what a great start to my Anthology reading. I had never read an anthology before because I thought they take too long and I like to read a book in a day. I give this anthology 5 damaged stars (not damaged because its poor but damaged because it what this book is). All procedes from this anthology go too RAINN - Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network.

Im going to give each book a short review of how they appear in the Anthology.

Embers of Starlight by Sonia De Leon.

What a great way too start this amazing anthology. This story is gripping. In the beginning I was thinking 'another kidnap story' but NO stop right there, this is SO much more!

Tula is best friend to Samson AKA Sam. They met in high school and became friends instantly. College ends and Samson goes off to join the Special Forces while Tula goes away to College. While away from eachother yet always stayed so close. Even thought these two stayed extremely close even after School had fiished, something wasn't right. Tula had feelings for Samson, but were they deeper than friendship?

While at College Tula & Samson stay close, talking all the time & seeing eachother when he is home, but Tula meets Adrian Valentine, college hottie. Even though Tula knows where her heart belongs she jumps into a relationship with this.

5 years pass & she rarely speaks with Samson, but she has her husband now and should be happy, but she isnt? Why?

Something seems off about Adrian but it is only when Tula starts to see a different side to him that she realises she needs out!

Who will be her prince in shining armour?

Will Tula ever escape the evil she calls Husband?

I have read many Trafficking/Kidnap stories but none quite like this. This book was different, good different!

I can't explain what it was about this book that I enjoyed so much just that it was more mature than all the others. Tula wasn't the sweet innocent girl that was timid & shy. She was a trusting, well balanced girl who happened too find herself in a situation she could have never thought possible.

Covered in Coal by Silla Webb

After reading Embers of Starlight it was nice to read a more laid back relaxing read. Even thought it contains scenes of rape it was brushed upon so it was nice easy enjoyable reading.

Carly-Jo was always a Daddy's girl, she had her Dad wrapped around her little finger. Little did she know when she went to him thinking she would help her after she discovers the biggest mistake of her life, Daddy turns his back on his poor little princess. Carly-Jo does all she can think of. She runs. Thinking someone will eventually come after her, be it her Daddy, her sister or her ex-boyfriend Colton. Someone has to come right?

7 years on & nobody has come after Carly-Jo but she has no choice but to return home, after a phone call from her sister she gets the devastating news that her Daddy doesn't have long because he is dying from Cancer. Never planning on returning to Kentucky Carly gets the shock of her life when she is forced to pack up & move back her because her Dad has left his company in her capable hands.

Its shock upon Shock for Carly-Jo when she arrives back in her hometown only to find Colton never left.

How will she fend off his eagerness to talk & explain?

How will she explain why she left?

Will they finally get the happily ever after they deserve?

Will that HEA be with eachother or someother?

The emotions this Author writes into her characters had you reading and now wanting to put the book down for a single second! Haven't read anything by this author but I will soon rectify that and download some of her work. Found this amazing author just in time for all my e-book holiday purchases!!

Mine Would Be You by Danielle Jamie

OK firstly, who doesn't love a hot dude on a motorbike! After reading this you're likely to need a cold shower! Lawson McCoy is one hot piece of ass.

Gaaahhhh!! I loved this book, maybe one of two of my favourites in this book! Emelyn has lived her whloe life trying to forget her first love Lawson, that becomwes a little bit more diffciult when her best friend asks her to be maid of honour at her upcomming wedding. There is just one catch. Lawson is the Groom's BROTHER! Yup that would make him the best man, we all know where this is heading... Fireworks at the Wedding?

Having not spoken to eachother since Lawson broke Emelyn's heart it makes for an awkward yet spine tingling first meeting.

As much as they both like to think they have moved on, truth is they will always be in love with one another & let's face it they both have to sort their differences in order too make the wedding less awkward. When Lawson & Emelyn grow close, and put the differences behind them you are waiting for the hammer to come down and throw them in separate directions all over again! This hammer comes in the shape of Lawson himself, when he shatters the few pieces that were left of Emelyn's heart, but can he really keep his distance like he said he needs too?

Will these two finally forgive & forget?

Will Lawson ever stop blaming himself for what happened that night?

Will Em ever trust Lawson again?

Truth me told I loved this story & I am so glad the whole story is in this anthology and not just a sneak peak. I would love to read more of Lawson & Emelyn's story.

A Beautiful Thought by Alicia Rae

I enjoyed this story but it was a little bit suckish that the whole book is not in the anthology, I would've enjoyed reviewing the whole book! I also didn't realise it is part of a series but this is the first book for Gail & Damon.

Damon is new in town but is Brother too Gails best friend Abbey. Abbey likes to involve herself so she sets up Abbey & Damon but not in the normal way, Abbey has just lost hours at work, has bills to pay and her sister healthcare too pay for so was thinking of getting a roommate. Abbey has a bright idea that Damon need s a place to stay.

Abbey & Damon have only briefly met so what could possibly go wrong?

When two people are attracted too eachother the way these guys are sparks are bound to fly. Damon moves in and things are going great, these guys are attracted too eachother but not to the point that it is akward that they are acting as friends when they clearly want more, even thought that is the case.

Gail won't open herself up to get hurt again, especially not when Damon isn't sure if he is sticking out or if his move is just temporary.

Another good book in this already fabulous Anthology.

Our Chance by Brandace Morrow

I don't even know where too start with this one, This author always stuns me, her work just gets better & better and Our Chance is no different. Fabulous characters & loved the storyline! Also super glad that also super glad it was a full length story, I don't think I could've coped if it wasn't.

So Jules returns home too her family's farm when her Grandma passes away and leaves the place in her name. Never did she think she would ever be returning her let alone with three kids & a dog in tow. Ten years ago Jules left after her long term relationship with Brody broke down & they went their separate ways. Little did she know, Brody never wanted this, he had wanted her just as much as she had wanted him.

The first person she sees when she enters her Grandma's farm is Brody's truck, this sends shock waves straight to her heart. She has always loved Brody, even though she married & had kids Brody always owned a piece of her heart that she would never share with anyone else.

Queue awkward conversation #1

Jules wasn't aware Brody still lived with his family, so is came as a shock to her to see him standing in her home, but what shocked her more is that he is actually the farm hand her Gran had hired which meant he also lived on her grounds. This could get very awkward and FAST!

The children have already noticed the exchanged between these two but say nothing.

Things had always been heated and angry with Brody & Jules. As much as they loved eachother they also hated eachother.

Queue awkward conversation #2

Jules visits the local Farmers Market & is greeted by Brodys mum who happens to drop in the big shock of Brody having a girlfriend and this girlfriend happens to be talking about rings.... yes they are the rings you are thinking of!

Little with Jules know but Brodys mum finds it hard not seeing Brody & Jules together and is the first too tell any of Brodys girlfriends that they are temporary and that as soon as Jules returns they will get the second chance they deserve. Could this be true?

Can these two put aside the past & create a future?

Can Brody forgive Jules for leaving?

Can Jules let Brody back into her heart?

After all it isn't just Jules too think about now, she has three children that she has too take into consideration and they must always come first.

Brandace did it again & WOW'd me with her work! Big thumbs up to you lady!!

The Price of Love by Casey Roop

Gahh another story that made me feel conflicting emotions, this story made me laugh, cry, smile and absolutely ripped my heart out at pieces.

Tristan Price is NewYork city hottest Batchelor. He runs a number of business & no women can capture his heart, that is until he sees Kendall Jones. Having saved her once from the crazyness that is Brett. Brett is Kendall ex-boyfriend who caused her hell. He took her innocence then he stole her parents from her. Kendell has never recovered from the fate in which Brett dished her but his fate is yet to come.

When Kendall falls at the feet of NewYorks Tristan Price she can't help but place his eyes from somewhere before, it isnt long before she finds out why he is so familiar to her. He is on the front of every magazine and is know for this playboy ways.

Tristan seems to take a fancy too Kendall but she isn't aware of the reason why. After watching out for her for the last 8 years he has lost a little bit of his heart to her, she when he is faced with the opportunity too keep her safe & maybe have a little fun at the same time, why not?

Trouble and heartbreak is round every corner where Kendall is concerned, she just thinks things are looking up when her whole world comes crashes down around her.

Secrets are shed and lies uncovered but can Kendall recover a second time?

Will she survive the crazy of Brett?

Will Tristan be able to save her from Brett for a second time?

Will all come out unscathed?

At first it thought Tristan was another crazy like Brett seems as he has been watching Kendall for the last 8 years but he had his reasons.

What I liked about this story was the uniqueness, I personally have read a story that capivated me like this for a while now. I loved how the story was told from both POV (Tristan & Kendall) with a little bit of Brett's point of view thrown is aswell. From Bretts POV you could tell her was sick, he generally though Kendall was his and all he had done too hurt her was to help her. Can anyone call the guys with straight jackets because he definitely needs one!! The story was well written & gripped you pretty much from the beginning. What a superb way to finish an already fabulous Anthology!
