Synopsis:

High school reunions are supposed to be joyous times of sharing memories and success...not gunfire and death...

Tate’s always been the player with a sweet heart. Payton was his “almost” love but things are different now. Tragedy strikes, leaving dozens injured and a handful dead. Now, he wants the girl who cared for him when he needed it most.

With deep-rooted resentment toward each other, twins Stella and Sophia are not on the best of terms. Stella, always inferior to her sister, is blossoming into the beautiful woman Tate sees her as now that they are together. Misunderstandings along with hidden pain and love surround Tate and Stella as they step into a serious relationship.

Will Sophia play nice and be happy for her sister?

Life can change in a second. For Tate and Stella, overcoming their past to live in the moment is easier said than done.

DeAnna's Review:

5 Stars
I was so happy to finally have Tate’s story and Leighton did a great job with it! Let me just say, Chapter 1 immediately sucked me in and I did not want to put it down.

Tate
In high school, he was the good looking, popular football player. He is now a personal trainer, who’s ready to make a change in his home life. He’s tired of running through women and it ready to start looking for the one. The problem has been that he’s still kind of hung up on one girl, who happens to be his really good friend and is now married with a child.

Tate arrives at the reunion with all intentions of reconnecting with his high school ex, Sophia. That all changed when his eyes spot Stella.

Stella
In high school, she was the shy quiet girl, who never really talked to or got to know anyone. Part of that may because she always seemed to be in the shadow of her popular twin sister, Sophia.

During the reunion, a horrible tragedy occurs that will deeply affect all involved. In the days following the tragedy, as Tate and Stella try to put their lives back together, they begin to grow close to each other and form a relationship. Unfortunately, there is someone in the background who doesn’t like this and will do anything to destroy them.
I have read all of Leighton’s books and it’s been so awesome to watch her writing grow with each book. The storyline was great. The characters were well developed and I loved the part when we found out how the tragedy occurred. I did not see that coming. I definitely recommend this one, as well as, Sinfully and Regretfully. They can all be read as standalones.

About the Author:

Texas born and raised, I found my love for dirty books rather recently. I work in real estate for my day job and I write contemporary romance with a twist of suspense and erotica. Sinfully, Regretfully, and Deceitfully can be read in order or as standalones. Sinfully and Regretfully take place around the same time frame and can even be read in reverse order (will give more background on Payton and Ryder's story).
