Synopsis.
When River’s already broken life shattered further on her sixteenth birthday, she was forced to be with the wrong best friend of her brothers. She was meant for Sammy but circumstance and black mail forced her into a relationship with Danny, a troubled, abusive partner. Leaving the only boy she ever loved to flee. After four longs years of being away from his hometown, Sammy returns to look after his kid brother. What he doesnt expect is that his feeling for his neighbour & once love of his life, to come back full force and make him stagger backwards. After being at college with his best friend Jasper, Sammy returns bringing Jasper with him. Hes been away for four years... four long years, alot can happen in four years as Sammy is about to find out. Arriving back in town, the first person he lays his eyes on takes his breath away... River. It's pretty clear from the get go that Sammy & River have unfinished bussiness. Bussiness they never really started or made clear to eachother, but its clear to everyone else how these two feel about eachother. There is one thing standing in there way... Danny. Will Sammy & River give into temptation or will River stay faithful to Danny?
River... River is lost, scared & broken. River had the most unimaginable childhood, lost her mother, then her father and now she is slowly losing the only person she has left.. her brother. River loved Sammy four years ago, and still does now, River was going to tell Sammy how she felt, when she had the choice taken out of her hands. Danny helped her brother out. Now River owes Danny and is scared to leave him because that will means losing her brother too. When Sammy arrives back in town Rivers world is turnt upside down. She had got used to living in her world of self pity and feeling sorry for herself but Sammy makes her feel things she hasnt felt in years... Loved! Who will win River's heart? Danny or Sammy? Sammy has always had River's heart but Danny did alot to save her brother...
Sammy... Sammy as I said is the love of Rivers life, was then and still is now. Sammy had his heart broken when River choose Danny on her 16th birthday, all those years ago. Little does Sammy know but the decision was taken out of River's hands. It was him River truly wanted but she felt as if she had to protect her brother & Danny was her ONLY option. Will he feel bad for leaving her to the life she had to endure when he realises that she never made that choice?
Danny... Danny is a sleazy, sadistic, overpowering, jealous asshole. Lets not forget he is also a maniplative ass who thinks everything is and will always go his way. All the time he has his secrets, he can keep River right where he wants her. Danny wasnt expecting the arrival of his once friend Sammy. Danny also wasnt exspecting for River to be in love with Sammy... What's a guy to do when he's about to lose the one girl he would kill for?
Will River finally find away to rid hrslef of the maniplative Danny and finally have a chance at her happy ever after with Sammy? Boy I sure do hope so...Danny makes my skin cruel... can anyone say EXTREMELY PROTECTIVE!! Sammy must tred carefully, Danny is unstable and River is broken.. she is no longer the girl next door that he once knew...
Throughout this book my heart was in my mouth. The Broken is full of drama, revalations, twists and one epic finally. One thing you must remember is 'everything is't always as it seems.' On a lighter note this book also made me laugh out loud a fair few times... Jasper and his witness is just pure awesome! The Broken is filled with raw intense passion... passion of love, sexual passion and passion of hate...

HOT DAMN... I thought the tension between Sammy & River was bad but christ! The tension in this book is off the charts... Ladies & Gentleman we have ourselfs one hell of a love triangle...
Jasper fancies 'her' but feels a strange connection to 'him'.
Kyra fancies 'him' but is attracted to 'him' aswell.
Derek fancies 'him' but fancies 'her' aswell.
With that confusing bit out of the way let me just say this series is a complete 5* read.!
Lets start with Jasper. Jasper is best friend of Sammy... if you dont know who Sammy is then back it up and go read The Broken first....
So Jasper... seems as we know him already, we know he is a ladies man through & through. He will put his dick in anywhere that is warm... he has never been a one women man, and never thought he would be... that is until HANNAH. Hannah is pregnant with Jasper's baby. Honestly I dont trust hannah and im not sure Jasper should either.... Bitch should be giving him a DNA test for that baby!!
"I might be into sex with easy women and maybe I'm too closed off to let people in when it comes to love and shit. My dad lost my mom and he fucking loved her with every fibre of his soul. It destroyed him when she died. I was a baby, but I felt the sorrow. It lived with us! I still have fucking feelings. Derek! I feel just like you do, I hurt just like you, and I'm hurting right now. How can you just shrug me off like I'm nothing to you? A fuck? Are you serious right now? I can't believe this. I didn't WANT TO FEEL LIKE THIS!" I shout at him.
Next comes Derek, we briedly met Derek in The Broken, he is a police detective & now close friend. Sammy & River moved out of Dereks house when baby Micheal arrived leaving just Jasper & Derek in the house. There is something Jasper doesnt know about Derek... or himself for that matter. After a strange late night encounter things get akward between Derek & Jasper but neither can stop thinking about the other. Jasper feels a strange kind of pull towards Derek and he isnt sure why, hes never been interested in men. Will these two acts on the feelings they are having or will they just shrug it off?
Just to add more of a spark to this already complicated set up... enter Kyra.. why not may as well add some hot female to this testoserone fueled fire. Jasper has been warned by River not to mess with her employees. In other words Jasper DO NOT fuck them and leave them. He already did they once and lost River one of her dancers. Derek is protecting Kyra from a stalker she seems to have atrracted, but Jasper isnt sure if he fancies Kyra or just fancies a fuck. Kyra doesnt seem like a one night stand kind of girl. Maybe shes safer with Derek.... but where is the fun in safe?
As the sexual tension between these three soar to all new levels so do the feeling being throw about within this group. So with Jasper having a baby on the way surely that makes things easier, and Derek & Kyra can just be together? Well things are never that easy hey... Surely somewhere along the line someone is going to get thier heart broken and stamped on.. be it Derek, Kyra, Jasper or even Hannah? At the end of the day there can only be two people in a relationship..... can't there?

"I love you, and so does Ky." He looks at me, his words wrapping me in a cocoon. "It's a fucked up situation, KAsp, and I don't know how to deal with it. What do I do for the best?"
Sammy & River are inside the circle of this group but are outside observers to the feelings and emotions these guys are trying to hide. All they want is for there friends to be happy, they wont judge. They love them all no matter what happens. I loved this couple, and even thought they are having thier own problems, they still have time to look out for their friends and there if one of them need them.
More than friends, More like family.
I couldn't have thought up a better ending for these 5 characters myself, I loved how they all got the HEA they deserved <3
Question is who will end up with whom? You'll have to read to find that out.
"I love you," he breathes.
"I love you too," I tell him.
"I love you both," Kyra mumbles.
This book left me feeling deflated, I hadnt read a book in a long while that evokes the kind of feelings that this book did. In one breath I was hot under the collar, the next I was sad, then I would be angry. I really loved Derek and how his character was but my main man was Jasper. When he was sad, I was sad. When he was mad, I was mad & hell I even got a little hot along with him. Let's just say you feel really connected to the characters thoughtout both of these books & to me that is a sign of a great writer.
Job well done Ker Dukey. I'll be looking out for more material by this author.
