WOW. This review took me sometime too think about, I am so worried I wont be able to do this book justice. Firstly I would too say, it takes a lot for me too cry at a book very few have done so. Secondly this is MY book of 2014! The best book I read in 2014 and that's saying ALOT I read hundreds of books!!

 

Kate AKA Brightside is a beautiful, down to earth, take life as it comes kind of girl. She likes to live in the moment and never live for the future.

 

Gus – The Best Friend. Gus is Kate's best friend, one night stand and all round good guy. Oh did I mention he is also in a Rock Band, so basically he's HOT! There is nothing Gus cares more about than Kate and that shows more and more throughout the book, in every conversation, text and email you can see the love shine through. It almost makes you think there is a lot more than love for a friend there but childhood sweethearts maybe?

 

Keller Banks. Campus Hottie. The guy every girl wants to be 'The One' for but the one guy that nobody can turn the head of. That is until Kate walks into the Coffee Shop and sweeps him off his feet. From that first look, that first glance, Keller is gone for. He sees the girl he would risk it all for.

 

They're all keeping secrets, some worse than others. One will make you, one will break you and the other will completely shatter you!! One two books have ever made me cry but none like this one. This one was an all out sobfest! I started this book in the early afternoon and I couldn't put it down (not even too pee or shower) until I finished it at 2am. I was so hooked, I wanted to see what would come of Keller & Kate. Kate & Gus. All three of them are such loveable characters, the authors makes you feel as if you know these people, they are your long lost friends. That is why it hurts all the more as the cracks start showing! So many twists in this book that I didn't see coming and so many questions that were always right in front of you.

 

Gus & Kate have been best friends since a very young age, so when Kate decided to move away to attend college it crushed Gus but he knows he is about to make it big so I guess he has to deal with the fact that they are both moving on.

Kate has never believe in love. That is until she see Keller. They lead very different lives and have very different opinions on life but both for very different reasons.

 

Kate does not fall easily when it comes to Keller, the only guy she has ever loved is Gus he is her home, he is her safety so when she came to college the last thing she was expecting was to fall in love. This scares her. She can't be loved. She just CAN'T. Its not something she has ever thought about and the thought scares her she doesn't want to end up hurting anyone.

 

When secrets out and the truth is bared who will be left standing?

Who will be left with a broken heart?

Who will be left too pick up the pieces?

 

This book gets a massive 5 stars and the book of the year award from me!! With such little time left in 2014 I would be VERY surprised if another book could knock this one off my top spot. I still get goosebumps when I think about Gus, Kate and Keller! A beautiful story full from a spectacular author!
