Synopsis.

Love is hoped for, life is a trial, death is inevitable.

Grace is still deeply haunted by the untimely death of her father when the handsome Beau walks into her life. There is just one problem. Behind Beaus cool exterior lurks a deadly secret, an unexplainable gift, Grace comes to discover that maybe death isn’t final. With freaky twists and spine tingling turns Grace finds herself buried deep in an extra ordinary world of the supernatural and unearthly. Plagued by the sadistic spirit of a serial killer that is long dead Grace must hold onto her sanity and fight for her life, or join the growing list of his other victims. He plays hard, he plays rough and his weapon of choice is a six inch hunting knife.

There are two sides to this cautionary tale – Heaven and Hell, good and evil, love and hate.
Two men - who mean the difference between life and death.

Ghost stories aren’t just for bedtime and the bogey man isn’t just a myth to scare kids.
The shadowed veil dividing our world and that of the deceased has been torn and all hell is breaking loose....literally.
Keep the lights on and set yourself up for the creepy and the demented - nothing is as it seems.

SJ's Review.

Firstly let me say this book was not what I expected it to be, at the beginning I was very skeptical but honestly I thought it was well thought out and different. a definate 4 star read. I wrote my review a little differently this time to see how it went. I was writing my review as I was reading so my reactions are from chapter to chapter ;)

****************

Right from the beginning of chapter one you were pulled into this book, by the end of chapter one my face and thoughts represented the same thing 'WHAT. THE. HELL.' but dont be alarmed it was a 'what the hell' that makes you want to read on. I want to see what the hell is going on. Chapter one starts out with Grace in a disturbing situation... only it's a dream... a very real feeling dream, so autoamtically I wanted to find out what was going on in this girl's messed up head.

"Love is hoped for, life is a trial and death is inevitable."

I'm currently stuck on what my thoughts are if I'm honest, but thats also a good thing. It's making me want to read on. The whole book was like this, when you get to a point you think 'ah i'll go do dinner' no chance... something will come and pull you by the hair back to this book.

"Tall & tanned, ruffled, cropped brown hair... grey t-shirt and royal blue denis tucked into a pair of scuffed black milarty boots."

WOWzers how's that for a HOT introduction? Meet the Beautiful Beau. Grace seems intrigued by Beau but has Grace fgot the determination & willpower to resist this mouth watering creature? Beau and his sexy swagger seem to good to be true. Polite, handsome and a total gentleman... Normally if something is to good to be true it normally is...

Lets face it Grace may be beautiful and have curves in all the right places but would Beau really be interested in someone so plain... or vanilla in the words of her best friend Ameila.

So from the first few chapters you seem to notice Beau isn't just the new college hottie... firstly theres the photo that grace took.. what is that haze around him? Secondly the letters from former foster parents... ODD!! Anyway after a few excruciating days grace finally plucks up the courage to talk to Beau who happens to be seated next to her in class...

"How's it hanging handsome?"

Omg I cringed so much at this, but also found it so funny, how akward. Luckly Beau finds this amusing and these guys finally get talking, after talking to Beau for five minutes Grace can feel a connection to him, but can also tell something doesn't quite add up... Beau is hiding something, but what is it? Beau only continues to get stranger... and stranger. When the book takes a massive paranormal turn it leaves you thinking maybe Grace isn't all that normal either...

Beau & Grace develop a great relationship throughtout the book and when Beau finally trusts Grace enough to tell her what he is, she doesnt freak... to me this is weird? Surely you'd freak even just a little for a day or so? No, not Grace she is intrigued she wants to know more..

Now Grace knows exactly what Beau is they grow even closer, but could Beau be the reason for all of Grace's intense dreams? Can these guys pull themselves apart now that they seem to be fallen for eachother.

Beau helps Grace through alot of hard times in her life & makes her feel special. Beau is the missing part Grace had been missing since her Dad died, but can he keep her safe from all that is evil? Is evil already closer than he thinks?

"I won't be able to promise you that I will be able to stop all your tears and sadness, but as long as you remember, I will always be by your side, we will get through it together. Life is full of both happiness and sorrow, but the love i have for you will conquer all."

This book has a lot of angst and lots of paranormal, Billie did a great job capturing her audience. The end of the book see's Grace walking along the beach... but is she alone? is she as safe as Beau thought she would be?
