39 & Holding is a light, funny, sexy, romantic read! If you are looking for a book to lighten your mood & make you laugh then this is the book you should most definitely read!
Greer Walker is a mum of two, dance instructor & she's experienced the ultimate betrayal. Her Husband has left her broken & distrusting of the Male species. Leaving you for a young, blonde, tight in all the right areas, 20 something bimbo must leave your confidence a little knocked! She has to keep her spirits high for the sake of her kids, she doesn't want them to know how much she is hurting! She
can't forgive her Ex Husband for the way he made be feel and the things he said to her, and she is comparing all men to him.
All that changes one day in the most unlikely place. Traffic. Sitting in traffic singing away too herself, in her own little world. She meets a very witty guy eating chocolate donuts. Not only is he friendly and funny but he is VERY easy on the eye, she cant help but 'squirm' when he looks in her direction.
Greer being the tough women she is, ignores his advances and just continues on her way. Will she come to regret her decision of not getting the strangers number? Why shouldn't she be happy? Why shouldn'tt she move on?
Nick Costa can't stop thinking about the women from the car who caught his eye. Shame he didn't get a name, which makes it pretty damn impossible to find her again.
Fate is on side when unfortunately for her, Sophie, Greer's daughter breaks her arm and ends up in the hospital! and who happens to be the Dr? None other than Mr Hot Donut man!!
Is this a sign from up above that Greer needs to forgive the male species and move on from her ex husband? I believe it is. Fate doesn't throw two complete strangers together TWICE unless it was on purpose...
Will Dr Nick be the one to help mend Greer & and her Broken heart or will Greer let the insecurities her ex husband has left her with ruin what could potentially be something beautiful!
I'm a huge fan of M.R Joseph's work and she did not disappoint with 39 & Holding, if anything she exceeded my expectations! This book has it all. Comedy, romance, tears and tantrums! I fell I love with all the characters in this book even the douchebag ex. This author has a way of making you love
all her characters... even the douchy ones.

If I'm completely honest, which I have been known for. Greer Walker is my favourite lead female by far in the recent books i've read. She's strong and feisty on the outside, and she has a no shit attitude but on the inside she is just as broken and torn up as anyone else would be. She has the bestest friends any girl could ask for and two beautiful children and she hides it all perfectly from them!
Will she finally let go and give into her second chance?
Will she finally let go of the hurt she has kept and finally accept everything happens for a reason?

I've read a lot of MR Joseph's books, and loved them all, but 39 & Holding is my favorite by A LONG SHOT!!! This story is unlike any I've read and I think that's why I loved it so much.
Greer... my poor Greer... we meet her by finding out that her husband of 15 years has cheated on her with a 25 year old tramp... I could use other words, but they aren't allowed lol.
So a year later on her way to meet her best friends for drinks, and getting stuck in traffic, she meets a hot as hell guy, with the most amazing green eyes! Not use to being flirted with, the second she can take off, she does.
Little does she know, that's not the last she'll see of Mr.Hottie with the Green eyes, or Mr. Doughnut as she calls him because he was munching on a doughnut while stuck in traffic.
When Sophie, her daughter, breaks her arm and is taken to the ER, little does Greer know that her daughter's surgeon, Dr. Costa, is Mr. Doughnut!
This sets everything motion and the story of Greer and Dr. Nick Costa begins.
Nick knows Greer is worth fighting for and goes after what he wants, despite Greer's hestation. Nick does everything in his powers to make Greer see that he is nothing like her POS ex-husband, but she still has doubts... she thinks back on everything that happened in her marriage and blames herself for the failure. She sees herself as not good enough. Which is further from the truth!
So Nick and Greer start on journey learning about each other and discovering truths about themselves.... that they never would have seen if fate hadn't stepped in and brought them together.
This is a hilarious, but heart warming, story about two people destined to be together and the ups and downs they go through on their journey of self discovery and the road that could lead to an HEA.
So don't pass this up and find out if Greer and Nick get their HEA or if Greer's past is just too much to over come.
Like I said.. I LOVED this book! I loved every single character and connected with Greer on so many levels.
Greer is newly divorced and trying to find her self again. She can't fathom why a HOT 30 year old would want someone with stretch marks from her pregnancies and 39 years old..... She has a lot to over come, but in the end.. she comes out stronger because of all she's been through.
Nick.. Dr. Hottie with the Green eyes... Seriously freakin drool worthy!! Talk about a self esteem booster. He absolutely adores Greer and he is a true gentleman... opens car doors, knows how to give a compliment... he's just an overall sweet guy!
This book is amazing and everyone should read it! I give it 5 HUGE stars!!! <3
